Champions Kenya Pipeline ambush KDF soldiers

Reigning Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Women’s National League champions Kenya Pipeline yesterday saw off Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in their third match of the 2025-2026 season played at Nyayo Gymnasium.
Fresh from bagging bronze at the 2026 African Women Volleyball Club Championship in Cairo, Egypt, the oilers had no difficult taking the lead as they easily won the first set 25-14.
However, the soldiers improved in the second set matching them point for point in a stiff battle that saw the champions prove their mettle by stretching their lead to 2-0 with a 27-25 score. KDF put up a spirited fight in the third set but their effort was bot good enough as Pipeline sealed the win 28-26.
Young Spikers held the nerve to edge out Kenyatta University (KU) 3-2 and register their first win. After losing the first set 25-21 to KU, they regrouped to take the second set 25-18 to draw level and set the stage for a fierce battle that would see them fight tooth and nail to win the third set 27-5 and take a 2-1 lead.

Determined not to go down easily, KU levelled the score 2-2 after snatching the fourth set 26-24. Young Spikers then fought gallantly in the tie-break to carry the day 15-11.
In the men’s lower division, Simlaw Seeds intensified their hunt for a promotion to the top tier with a 3-1 win against Desert Warriors.
The win saw Simlaw consolidate their spot on to of the table hence increasing their chances of joining the bog boys league. They rallied from a set down to register their seventh win.
Warriors who are currently fifth on the standings had a good start winning the first set 25-20.
However, Simlaw who came close to securing their promotion last season but fell short recovered to take the second set 25-18 to restore parity. They remained focused to win the third and fourth sets with an identical score of 25-22 to bag maximum points.
In another encounter Bunge Volleyball Club came from behind to dismiss The Beast 3-1 (17-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-21) to maintain their unbeaten run.
The win saw Bunge make six wins out of six and move into the top three to improve their chances of securing a Men’s National League slot.
KU men and Kenya Airforce also had a great day in the office winning their respective matches while University of Nairobi (UoN) bagged their first points without lifting a finger after their opponents Microspikers failed to homour the match.
KU showed no respect for Kenya Navy soldiers seeing them off in straight sets of 25-20, 25-8, 25-22 to chalk their third win of the season.
Kenya Airforce on the other hand beat Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture (JKUAT) in sets of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-14 to move one place up to second. ASOB registered their second win after defeating Deaf Volleyball 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-21).
